NanoHouse: Nanotechnology and Business Development

Nanoscience and nanotechnologies are expected to bring more change in many industries.
Nanotech sweeps away the traditional barriers between mono-disciplines such as chemistry, physics and biology. For a successful exploitation and development of Nanotechnologies there is a need for bridging the gaps between science and practical engineering.

NanoHouse strives to bridge the gap and realize technology transfer between knowledge institutions and businesses in the triangle Aken (Germany), Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Leuven (Belgium).

Our main aim is to inform businesses of the opportunities using nanotechnologies. We are creating links between business activities and experts in nanotechnology in business development.  NanoHouse  now runs a number of pilots are ongoing in different sectors to investigate the different ways to bring nanotechnology into practice. The intention is to develop applications by linking scientific researchers and applied researchers. Furthermore special events are organized to communicate the opportunities of nanotechnology.

NanoHouse concentrates on a number of well established sectors including food, smart materials, automotive, and life sciences but invites all business to connect to our network to explore the potential of nanotechnology for your business.

Since 2006, Bart van den Berg is the project leader of nanoHouse. He recently received his master degree in International Business at the University of Maastricht. During the period he was established at DSM-kenniswinkel, the knowledge transfer centre of DSM.

The organizational and business skills are the essential input for the nanoHouse project. In his current functions a regional network in parts of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands will be created in the public and private sector, to raise awareness and initiate pilots in nanotechnology.  The primary aim is to initiate the implementation of nanotechnology in the euregional economy. Therefore nanoHouse is involved in projects who inform the general audience. Apart from that he is involved in number of pilot projects with regional businesses. The aim is to apply the new properties and functions of nanotechnology into products.
