NanoTransfer 2006

Tech Transfer Virtual Exhibit

  Micro@Nanofabrication-Austria

MNA is a consortium of 18 members from Austrian universities, research institutions, and companies. The objective is to organize and stimulate networking activities for the Micro@Nano-Fabrication-Austria Initiative targeted towards capitalizing on existing and proven Austrian industrial leadership in Micro@Nano Technology. A core focus is to further develop commercialization outlook - i.e. trust building between lead customers and Austrian suppliers, tacit knowledge in product and service development, strengthening market focus, opportunity recognition and demonstration of competencies of Austrian industries as well as significantly enhancing self-organization mechanisms within the relevant cluster community via benchmarking effective practice together with analytical reflection loops.

Coordination: Friedemar Kuchar, University of Leoben
Hans Loeschner, IMS Nanofabrication GmbH Vienna

Fields of Expertise:

- Micro and Nano - Structuring
Hans Loeschner, IMS Nanofabrication GmbH Vienna
Humbert Noll, Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt

- Bio-inspired Materials
Dieter Falkenhagen, Danube-University Krems
Uwe Sleytr, Center for NanoBiotechnology Vienna

- Functionalized Nano-Materials
Dieter Bäuerle, Johannes Kepler University Linz
Wolfgang Lang, University of Vienna

- Nanodevices
Günther Bauer, Johannes Kepler University Linz
Gottfried Strasser, Vienna University of Technology

- Sensors and Actuator Systems
Michiel Vellekoop, Vienna University of Technology
Alexandar Vujanic, IMA Wiener Neustadt

Goals:

  • Establish and strengthen an international network of excellence in the field of Micro- and Nanotechnology with Austrian leadership
  • Highlight the ongoing micro- and nanotechnology research in Austria and promote technology transfer from academic world to the industry
  • Coordinate the activities with existing associations (ESG, GME, OGMS) to foster the commercialization of scientific, technological and marketing MNA results (higher added value intellectual property rights) for value creation for Austria
  • Encourage the development of micro- and nanotechnology companies through spin-offs
  • Stimulate leadership role-models for Austrian micro- and nanotechnology companies within the European Framework Program 6
