Synthesizing the scenario
The analysis started with a read up on the technology and clustering of information. We classified the documents through an iterative process, eliminating any inconsistencies arising from multiple versions.
The next step laid down a global communication strategy. Since Nanometrix targets two audiences, we decided to have well separated sections for business and technology. For each section we drew a matrix of audience and interests.
Based on the strategy, we singled out the concepts to be explained for each section. For instance, the presentation of the core technology had to provide a global understanding of process while exhibiting its simplicity and applicability.
Filtering the list of concepts was required, keeping technological aspects comprehensible. One such decision was to leave out the technological details of the competing technologies and list only their main characteristics.
The storyboard, a visual representation of the scenario, was prepared as a Power Point so that it could be easily understood by the client. It contained depictions of the key-frames and indications on the animations between the key-frames.
We established a second contact with Patrick, in which we shared the storyboard. The modifications were limited to minor changes but if needed, we could have restructured the scenario to fit the client's vision.
The whole process did not require any efforts from Patrick - basically he sent us the documents and we came up with the scenario. This is what he thinks about our approach:
"Being a start-up, resources are always limited especially time. Nanosprint, because of their technical expertise was able to grasp our technology without the need for our technical staff having to spend valuable time educating them. This allowed us to concentrate on our business while Nanosprint moved forward with the project."
